How to reduce latency on iOS with Core MIDI
The MIDI Core mode is accessible from the Senstroke application menu.
Slide your finger from the left edge of the screen to display it.
The “MIDI Connections” feature appears. Press on it.
The sensors connected to the application then appear.
Press each sensor one by one to connect them as a “Core MIDI” instrument.
Advantages and disadvantages of Core MIDI
The MIDI Core mode has advantages and disadvantages that it is important to know.
Latency is reduced by 30%.
Connection with third-party software such as Garageband is immediate.
You must first connect via Bluetooth in the traditional way before connecting via MIDI Core. If you don’t do it in this order, you won’t be able to configure the sensors and they won’t appear in the list of available sensors. This is a restriction imposed by iOS.
